Winning Stock Picks
I just started to invest online with Scottrade and I thought I'd share some of my thoughts on investing in today's market place. I'm still in the learning curve and almost went over the guard rail more than once. But, I will have you know that, I didn't just jump right in and start throwing money around. Before I started to invest in stocks I did a great deal of internet surfing, reading and research on the subject. Guess what? I still decided to give it a try anyhow.
Stock market,,,, what can I say about the stock market so far. Well, so far I have determined through my reading and research that our stock market is one of the most manipulated places that I have ever come across. I thought the Casino's and the Banks, and Pawn Shops had a license to steal.... I think that these guys learned their trade by watching the big boys on Wall Street. The guys on Wall Street and the big Hedge funds have got this market in their pocket....... They control the stocks..
It's called Market Manipulation,,, listed below are some of the ways that this occurs
Pools
"Agreements, often written, among a group of traders to delegate authority to a single manager to trade in a specific stock for a specific period of time and then to share in the resulting profits or losses.
Churning
"When a trader places both buy and sell orders at about the same price. The increase in activity is intended to attract additional investors, and increase the price."
Runs
"When a group of traders create activity or rumors in order to drive the price of a security up." An example is the Guinness share-trading fraud of the 1980s. In the US, this activity is usually referred to as painting the tape.
Ramping (the market)
"Actions designed to artificially raise the market price of listed securities and to give the impression of voluminous trading, in order to make a quick profit.
Wash trade
"Selling and repurchasing the same or substantially the same security for the purpose of generating activity and increasing the price"
Bear raid
"Attempting to push the price of a stock down by heavy selling or short selling
naked short sales
the seller does not borrow or arrange to borrow the securities in time to make delivery to the buyer within the standard three-day settlement period. As a result, the seller fails to deliver securities to the buyer when delivery is due; this is known as a "failure to deliver" or "fail."
But, never fear, Phil is here to try and figure out all of the ins and outs of online investing and once I think that I got a handle on it. I'll try to explain to you what I think that I know... and the proof will be in the pudding so to speak, because I'm going to share my stock trades with who ever is reading this Blog. So stay tuned to this Blog ladies and gentlemen ,,, to see if the kid from Michigan can make a little bit of money in the market.
I'm also new to this blogging thing to, so this is going to be fun for both of us..... For me trying to figure all this stuff out.....And for you trying to make sense out of my ramblings.....If at any time you feel like your getting confused and can't figure out what point that I'm trying to make.....
"Welcome to my world", I live in a total state of confusion.....and maybe there is no point that I'm trying to make. I might just be typing for something to do, or maybe I just can't sleep, or maybe just maybe I have something to say or maybe not.... I'll let you be the judge of that..
The one good thing that I can say about this Blog,,,,,,Well,,,, I guess I can't say anything about it yet because I just got started in the World of Blogging....
It might be Fun,,, bookmark me and check back from time to time and see how I am doing and don't be afraid to chime in at any time and voice your opinion..
